Morning (afternoon) Stories: One of those days
Uncooperative technology and some good reads
Good afternoon,
This morning the wind seemed to want to to blow the roof tiles off. My laptop gave up on me and it was before breakfast so I didn’t have the patience to figure it out.
It did quiet down now and I managed to get my laptop to work again, but the two are not related. I still don’t understand what happened exactly, apart from the fact that it somehow doesn’t seem to be able to set the date and time correctly which means that it will not connect to the internet even when there is a working connection. It’s just one of those things that make me hate technology.
I’ll be spending the rest of today reading (paper) books. It’s the only thing I want to do lately anyway. I just finished Jen Campbell’s short story collection The Beginning of the World in the Middle of the Night. It was brilliant and now I feel like I need more of good writing so I’ll be reading Our Wives Under the Sea this afternoon. Everyone I’ve spoken to, including my husband, loved it so I hope to have a very good time with it.
I hope that you’re having a lovely day.
