Morning Stories: A bit of colour

annamboland.substack.com

I was planning to sleep in today. Sundays are no alarm days as those are the only days in the week I never work at the library. I really wanted to wake up late and get the proper Sunday feeling. I woke up at quarter to eight, which is even earlier than my alarm would go off on most of the days. It seems that it’s only my mind that is tired and my body is completely fine. And so it feels today, like the tiredness is located solely above my neck. If it was a cold I would be quite happy about it.

There’s still snow lingering here and there, after Friday’s blizzard, but the forecast looks promising, at least in the temperature department. It will be wet, but at least I won’t be cold all the time. I really can’t wait.

When I was writing this in my notebook at the dinner table, there was rain mixed with snow falling outside. The greyish light seeping into the room. I’ve put the tulips in front of me, to cheer the morning up and it really helped. A bit of colour brought into the greyness. Maybe I need some vitamin D and to wear some bright colours?

Could this be so simple?
