Morning Stories: All that grass
Pasture effect, restlessness and currently reading, or a very short introduction to the workings of my mind
If you want to discover which muscles you have in your body, I can recommend clearing a patch of garden from all the grass that grew there through the winter.
Living next to a pasture has its perks (the view, the view, the view), but it also means that we’re sharing some of the grass with our neighbours, or rather they are sharing their grass with us. Which is fine where we want to have grass, but not on our veggies and herbs patch.
Yesterday, after breakfast, I was felling restless. Maybe it was the warm weather, maybe just the effect of a week of bad sleep, which in itself is an effect of changing the clocks to the summer time. Whatever the reason, I needed to do something and it had to be physical. So, I thought, that making a start on clearing the grass would be a great idea. And it was. The only thing is that I didn’t make a start, I cleared all of it.
Before I fell asleep, I was thinking about today and I decided which exercising routine I’ll do this morning and what I’ll have for breakfast. The breakfast stands, but walking up the stairs to my attic room to write to you was a challenge, so today will be all about catching up on my reading.
I’m reading Demon Copperhead and I want to finish it sooner rather than later, because there’s someone waiting for it at the library. I’m also reading The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires for my book club in two weeks and I’ve started Luister (a Dutch book) and the first pages are very promising, and also someone is waiting for it at the library, so I want to be quick with it. It looks like I know which two books I’ll be switching between today.
The weather is perfect for reading outside so I might be doing this and enjoying the effects of my yesterday’s hard work in the meantime.
Happy Sunday!
I'm rather jealous that you have reading outside weather! I'm sitting trying to crochet while a gale force wind lashes the rain against my window 🙄
