Is it me or is July the longest month ever? It seems to stretch infinitely. Every time I think we’re almost there it laughs, says “hold my beer” and adds a few more days to itself. I believe that it also really enjoys this little game. To tell you the truth, I don’t care either way, it’s not that I have anything against July, it just seems not the have an end and it feels strange that thirty one days can take so much time to pass.
Summer is strange anyway, don’t you think? Especially when you work through it. Everything slows down, there’s less urgency at work, but also it seems that everything has a slower pace, it feels like there is more time to do everything. This is how we should live all year long, I feel. I really like it.
I have a few things at work that have to be done next month and a few personal projects I want to work on, but otherwise I want August to be a quiet month. Lots of reading (I’ve set myself a very ambitious goal, I’ll probably not reach) and finding back my daily rhythm. Or, rather creating a new one, as I have a new position at work and it means that my days look a little bit different now and I can have more space for all the things I want to do outside of my job. I just need a good daily rhythm and August seems like a perfect time to work on it.
How are things with you?
So true. July always seems to stretch on forever doesn't it
Groetjes
