It’s cold outside today. The grass is covered with a delicate white layer and everything shines in the morning sun. I like frosty mornings, the world seems calmer, less rushed.
Or maybe it’s me. Slowing down together with nature. Although I’m more prone to exercise in the autumn and winter than in the summer. I feel more active in the colder months, more myself. Maybe because when it’s cold, I’m not a weirdo staying inside and reading?
I don’t really care what people think about my lifestyle, but there is a certain societal pressure to be more out there in the world in the summer months. Nobody is expecting it on the cold. Which to me is strange, to tell you the truth. In the summer we get enough light and therefore vitamin D anyway. In the colder and darker months we need to work for it, and there’s no better way than being outside more.
I will go for a walk today and enjoy the quiet paths and the soft light of a November afternoon, but most of the day you can find me under the blanket, under a cat with a good supply of tea and reading material.
I hope you’re enjoying this autumn as much as I do.
