Read, Write, Walk, Repeat
Big hopes and good intentions
Last week of December was all about rest. Not planned, but forced on me by a fall on the basement stairs on the Christmas Eve’s day. I’ve injured my lower back and couldn’t sit at my desk at all. Luckily, I’ve learned from many previous injuries that rest is important, but so is movement and recovery is going very well. I can sit at my desk now and I’m in much less pain.
Alice (the cat) loved it, as I was sitting a lot in my reading (reclining) chair and was a perfect bed for her. Well, I didn’t mind it either, to tell you the truth. I needed the rest after the last six months, I just didn’t realise it until I was forced to take it.
And now, in this first week of January, I’m trying to restore my daily routine, which proves a little bit difficult. But it’s still early days and the transition period isn’t that strange, actually. I’m doing what I can and trust that the rest will fall into place in the coming weeks.
While the whole world is sharing their words for the year and their plans and goals, I only have hopes and a lot of good intentions. I want this year to be all about words. Written, read and translated. I want to put my energy into building my life around it. I want to be devoted to it, I want to be consistent. I want to be doing it so much that my hand will hurt from holding the pen and my buttocks will scream for a walk.
This is it. Read a lot, write a lot. Walk it off. Start again.
Happy New Year!
