The one important change for the new year

More me, more heart, more joy

How are you doing? We are almost at the end of this 2023 ride and as much as I’m not big on new year’s resolutions, I thought that there are things I want to do differently next year and some I want to continue and some I want to break free off, but let’s not talk about those here, today.

It all came about after I wrote a first letter in my new “project” I’m doing here on Substack, together with a friend of mine, I’ve met through Instagram and later in real life. We wanted to do something together and we came to this, writing letters to each other. It’s in Polish, so it’s no use to most of you, but if you happen to read Polish, I hope you’ll join us there.

What was I talking about? Ah, yes, about how I came to the decision to change things next year. I was writing my first letter to Bartek yesterday and I had so much pleasure doing it, that it made me think. Why am I not enjoying writing on my blog and these letters as much anymore, most of the time? And it hit me, this letter was written straight from my heart. There was no strategy to it, no big message to send through it, no value attached. It was just a letter to a friend. And then I remembered that this is how I used to write online, on my blog and on my Instagram. Straight from the heart, not thinking about what others might or might not think about it. I was myself, there was no persona, no content creation, there was only me and my thoughts poured out onto the page.

And this is how I want to write from now on. So expect a bit of ramblings and more me (if you can handle it) and more writing straight from the heart and more honesty, even when it’s not easy and not always pretty.

I hope you’ll stay with me for this, because I expect to have more fun writing to you and I hope that we can have lots of conversations about life stuff, books and anything else we want to talk about.
