Ooo, I very much dislike this feeling that everything has to be for profit. That everything I do has to overlooked by considering whether I’m hitting the right tone so I can garner more subscribers especially paid ones ( I have none). I want to write for me and people who ‘get’ me. That shouldn’t require thought on what I need to say to them to keep them involved. If they don’t like what I like let them unsubscribe, there is no judgement from me, nor a need for an excuse from them. We can’t please everyone, but we should please ourselves.

I 100% know where you are coming from when you take about sabotaging your writing as I have been doing the same thinking I am not good enough and that no one wants to read what I have to say.

I just want to say that your words about having to turn everything into a hustle and people becoming 'specialists' on various platforms really resonated with me. It seems like we've lost the value of doing things simply for the joy of doing. I'm trying very hard to remind myself that it's enough to simply create and share for pleasure. Good luck with your writing, I hope you find a way back to enjoyment x

I also feel similar about how platforms like Instagram and now this one, get hijacked by these hustle type of posts. I am on here to read good writing and share some of my own - not to make money Or gain much recognition. Nothing wrong with those things, but this not necessarily the place. Thanks for expressing that - and keep writing!

It’s always great to have a reminder that we can (or are!) writing just for the love of it 💙
