I can highly recommend an ebike, as an asthmatic living in a hilly area its the only way I can manage to cycle! And you can always keep the power on low if it makes you feel better (or even turn it off, although ebikes are heavy).
Yes, keeping the power on low sometimes would be a good idea. I live in the flat Netherlands, but the wind is sometimes just too much. ;-) Also I want to use the car less and for that I really need and e-bike. I'm just not a natural cyclist, my legs work better walking. :-)
